The KPCP Program
Children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. They are little scientists and builders, acrobats and artisans designed uniquely by our creator who need active experiences with this amazing world of people and things designed by God. They need opportunities to set goals, plan, reflect, and take responsibility. From birth, they are communicators who need a world filled with books, language experiences, enriching conversations.
ACADEMIC LEARNING
Understanding that every child learns in different ways we use a hybrid approach that included elements of Montessori and Classical learning environments designs for infants through Kindergarten that includes phonics, reading, writing, poetry, numbers, science, and language development and language enrichment (Spanish/sign language)
A SAFE AND TRUSTED ENVIRONMENT
You’ll know your child will be safe and secure in a peaceful engaging environment while you are at work or school - even when they are on an exciting field trip with a ratio of 1:5.
LARGE AND SMALL MOTOR EXPERIENCES
Whether engaged in a classic outdoor game, going on a scavenger hunt, or building an obstacle course with jumbo building blocks, the actual name of the game is to provide both large and small motor experiences. Simple things like moving to music, jumping rope, hopping on a trampoline, chasing bubbles, or just running up a hill and rolling down it all build your child’s small and gross motor skills.
SENSORY EXPERIENCES
From the moment they're born, children use their senses to discover the world around them. Sensory play is any activity that stimulates our senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. It helps children interact with and make sense of the world that surrounds them. Encouraging creative and independent thinking. Enhancing memory and observational skills.
COGNITIVE EXPERIENCES
Play is important for your child’s cognitive development – that is, your child’s ability to think, understand, communicate, remember, imagine and work out what might happen next. Children want to learn how things work, and they learn best through play. Children at play are solving problems, creating, experimenting, thinking and learning all the time such as object permanence, spatial relationships, classifying, collecting and dumping, cause and effect experiences, problem-solving.
LANGUAGE AND MUSIC
Language learning offers a unique and exciting opportunity to integrate music. The introduction of music provides a light-hearted and fun way to interact with other languages and cultures. Language development is built on adult-child conversations, reading, foreign language introductions, sign language play, explorations in music, rhyming, and sound explorations.
PERSONAL EXPRESSION
Children learn, develop critical skills, and have fun when provided the opportunity for creative, artistic expression. Painting, coloring, writing, making music, and making crafts are all creative activities. Creative expression helps children articulate their feelings and thoughts.
